The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested a retired Additional Land Registrar in possession of a stock of 12-bore bullets and a firearm.
According to the CID, officers recovered 125 12-bore bullets and a rifle bearing number 407088 from the suspect’s possession.
The arrest was made in the Weliwita area of Kaduwela, following information received by the Special Investigation Division 3 of the CID.
The suspect, a 61-year-old man, is scheduled to be produced before the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court today (13).
