The ongoing Sri Lanka–Pakistan cricket series is facing possible disruption after several Sri Lankan national team players reportedly requested to return home, citing safety fears following a recent bomb attack in Islamabad.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the requests but has instructed all players, support staff, and team management to remain with the tour as scheduled. The board warned that any player who leaves the tour against official directives will face a formal review of their conduct once the series concludes.

SLC officials emphasized that replacements will be dispatched immediately if any players withdraw, ensuring that the series continues without interruption.

In a statement, SLC said it is working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and local security agencies to address safety concerns and ensure the protection of all members of the touring party.

The recent security incident in Islamabad has reignited concerns among players and fans about touring Pakistan, though PCB and local authorities have reassured visiting teams of comprehensive security arrangements.
