A person who allegedly used the name of veteran film director Sanath Abeysekara to solicit sexual bribes from women has been remanded until November 17.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested the suspect and produced him before the Colombo Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court today (12).
Investigations have revealed that the suspect had created a fake Facebook account under the name of Sanath Abeysekara and contacted several actresses, promising film roles in exchange for money and sexual favours.
Following a complaint lodged by Sanath Abeysekara with the CID, the suspect was apprehended and subsequently remanded by court pending further investigations.
