Former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga has been arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) today (12).
According to Commission sources, the arrest was made in connection with an ongoing investigation into allegations of financial irregularities during his tenure as a minister.
Mr.Ranatunga was taken into custody after he arrived at the Commission to provide a statement. He is expected to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court later today.
Further investigations are being carried out by the Bribery Commission.
