A 29-year-old resident of Manippai has been arrested in connection with aiding and abetting a murder that occurred in the Kotahena area, police said.
According to the Colombo District Crime Division, the arrest was made on November 10, 2025, by a team of officers from the Jaffna Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau. The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Colombo District Crime Division for further investigation.
The incident took place on November 7 in the 16th Lane area of the Kotahena Police Division, where a shooting resulted in the death of a man. Police say investigations into both the shooting and the suspected accomplices are continuing.
The arrested suspect is currently being detained under detention orders while the Colombo District Crime Division conducts further inquiries into the case.
