Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya inaugurated the National Tea Symposium (InTSym100) yesterday (10) at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. The symposium marks 100 years of scientific service by the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka (TRISL), which was established in 1925.
The event, themed “Perfect Sip: Bridging Innovations, Sustainability and Lifestyles”, brings together scientists, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world to discuss the future of the tea industry through research and innovation.
During the ceremony, a new tea variety, TRI 5000, was presented to the Prime Minister.
