The Ampara Magistrate’s Court today (10) sentenced six individuals to death over a murder committed in the Kehelulla area in 2015.
The incident had occurred on April 15, 2015, in the village of Kadupahara. The group of six had reportedly been consuming alcohol inside a lorry when two villagers objected to their behavior. Following an argument, the group assaulted the two villagers and subsequently ran them over with the lorry, resulting in their deaths.
After a prolonged legal process, the court today delivered the death sentence to all six accused in connection with the incident.
