This year’s examination will continue until Friday, December 5, and will be conducted at 2,362 examination centers across the island. A total of 340,521 candidates are eligible to sit for the examination including 246,521 school candidates and 94,000 private candidates.
According to the Department, 325 coordination centers and 32 regional collection centers have been established to ensure smooth administration of the exam. Admission cards for school candidates have been sent to school principals, while private candidates have already received theirs.
Examination Commissioner General Indika Kumari Liyanage stated that candidates who have not received their admission cards can download them from the Department’s official website. She emphasized that all students must bring their duly certified admission cards to the examination centers.
Morning examination sessions will commence at 8:30 a.m., and candidates are advised to report to their respective centers by 7:30 a.m. In the afternoon, examinations will start at 1:00 p.m., except on Fridays, when they will begin at 2:00 p.m.
The Department further reminded candidates that electronic wristwatches, mobile phones, and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside examination halls. Candidates were also urged to refrain from engaging in any form of examination malpractice and to face the examination with focus and integrity.
