Sri Lanka Customs said that this year’s expected revenue target is likely to be achieved within the next three days.

Customs Director Chandana Punchihewa revealed that the highest single-day revenue in the history of Customs was recorded recently. “The previous record was set on 15th October 2025, with collections exceeding Rs. 24 billion in a single day,” he said.

However, on 6th November, Customs collected Rs. 27.7 billion, marking the highest revenue ever recorded by any tax collection department in Sri Lanka.

“Our annual tax target for this year is Rs. 2.115 trillion. As of yesterday, total collections reached Rs. 2,066.7 billion. We expect to meet the target by around Wednesday next week, and once achieved, we will have the opportunity to surpass it,” Punchihewa added.
