Worker remittances hit US$ 712 million in October

Sri Lanka has received foreign worker remittances amounting to US$ 712 million in October 2025, according to the latest statistics released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

The Central Bank further noted that total remittances from January to October this year stand at US$ 6.52 billion, reflecting a 20.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Meanwhile, official data also shows that tourism earnings for the first nine months of 2025 have surpassed US$ 2 billion. Total tourism revenue for the period is recorded at US$ 2.47 billion, marking a 5.3% rise from the US$ 2.34 billion earned during the corresponding period last year.
