The raid was conducted on November 5 during a surprise inspection by officers of the Ja-Ela Excise Office. Officials confirmed that the store was found operating illegally, and it was immediately sealed.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Ja-Ela Excise Superintendent Jayasanka, with the support of Chief Excise Inspector Kala Rasika Wijesinghe and other excise officers.
The Excise Department stated that legal action will be taken against those responsible following further investigations.
