The “Presidential Media Awards – 2025” ceremony, dedicated to recognizing the dedication and excellence of Sri Lankan journalists, will be held on November 11 at 3 p.m. at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr.Harini Amarasuriya.
This prestigious annual event aims to celebrate credible, ethical, and socially responsible media practices, while acknowledging the skills, talents, and outstanding contributions of professionals across various sectors — including television, radio, print, online media, media research, and school media units.
A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the “Madhyabhimani” (Media Excellence) Award, the highest honour in the Sri Lankan media industry. This award, which is presented only once in a lifetime, will be conferred on six distinguished media personalities in recognition of their exceptional and long-standing service to the field.
The recipients will also receive monetary grants as part of this recognition, further supporting their invaluable contribution to strengthening responsible journalism and promoting credible media in Sri Lanka.
