As of yesterday, transactions amounting to Rs. 1,001,469,008 have been completed through 40,920 transactions, with 200 government institutions participating in the system.
GovPay enables citizens and businesses to make secure and convenient online payments for a wide range of government-related services, including taxes, fines, utility bills, education fees, and service charges via banks and digital wallets.
The Ministry noted that the achievement reflects the growing success of Sri Lanka’s efforts to promote a digitally empowered public service and strengthen the country’s digital economy.
