The Department of Meteorology says showers or thundershowers may occur in a few places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and Northern provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee district, after 2.00 p.m. today.
Mainly fair weather will prevail in other parts of the island, the Department added.
Misty conditions can be expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara district, during the early hours of the morning.
The public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage from temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
