The latest audit of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has revealed that 347 files have been under investigation for 5–10 years, and 16 files have remained unresolved for more than 10 years.

In total, the Commission had 5,294 files in its Investigation Division during 2024. At the start of the year, 2,353 files were pending, and 2,941 new complaints were received during the year. Of these, 2,933 files were investigated, leaving 2,361 cases still under active investigation as of 31 December 2024.

Meanwhile, 715 files were less than a year old, and 1,283 files were 1–5 years old.

The Chief Accounting Officer confirmed the accuracy of these statistics.

The audit recommended that the Commission expedite investigations, particularly long-pending cases, to ensure complaints are resolved in a timely manner.
