A Sri Lanka–China Cultural, Educational, Media and Youth Exchange Programme was held under the theme “Strengthening Youth Cooperation for a Shared Future.”
The event was organized by the Sinhala Service of China Media Group, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the National Youth Services Council, with the support of the Confucius Institute of the University of Colombo.
The programme, which featured a variety of segments, brought together over 500 participants, including media professionals, academics, and members of the Chinese community residing in Sri Lanka.
Students who attended the event engaged in live social media interactions with journalists from the Sinhala Service of China Media Group, creating a unique experience of cultural and intellectual exchange.
The programme also included Chinese cuisine tasting sessions, Chinese fashion and art showcases, as well as informative discussions on educational opportunities in China.
Young participants shared their thoughts on the theme, expressing optimism about building a shared and hopeful journey toward a common future.
The event was held under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs Dinindu Saman Kumara, Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakarathna, and Chairman of the National Youth Services Council Supun Wijerathna.
