The advisory notes that areas in the Eastern Province, as well as parts of Polonnaruwa and Monaragala districts, are likely to experience higher-than-usual “felt” temperatures.
Meteorologists warn that this condition could lead to health issues such as dehydration, headaches, and heat stress due to excessive body heat.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, the Department further stated.
