An audit conducted on the financial statements of the Presidential Secretariat for the year ending December 31, 2024, has uncovered suspected excessive fuel use involving a Benz vehicle assigned to the Special Projects Division.

According to the Transport Division’s records, the vehicle is capable of traveling 6 km per liter of fuel. Between November 2022 and September 2024, it had been driven 30,689 km — a distance requiring approximately 5,150 liters of fuel.

However, auditors found that the vehicle had obtained 7,425 liters through the Secretariat’s fuel coupons, indicating an excess consumption of around 2,300 liters beyond the normal requirement.

In response to the audit observation, the Chief Accounting Officer stated that a preliminary investigation is underway to determine whether state property was misused, with further action to follow in line with existing financial regulations.
