The “Ratama Ekata” (A Nation United) national anti-drug operation, launched on October 30, 2025, has resulted in the arrest of 3,361 suspects in a series of islandwide raids conducted by the Sri Lanka Police within just three days.

According to the Police Headquarters, 3,370 raids were carried out between October 30 and November 1 under the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP). The raids led to the seizure of large quantities of heroin, “ice,” cocaine, cannabis, Kush, Madanamodaka, and Mawa, along with 162,164 cannabis plants.

Police said investigations into illegal assets have been initiated against six suspects, while 72 individuals have been detained under detention orders for further questioning. In addition, 38 individuals have been referred for rehabilitation, in line with the program’s broader focus on community empowerment and recovery alongside law enforcement efforts.
