Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has begun moving her personal belongings out of her official residence located on Independence Avenue, Colombo.

The move follows the recent parliamentary approval of the bill that revoked several privileges previously granted to former presidents, including the provision of state-maintained official residences.

Kumaratunga had earlier been granted an extension until November 30 to vacate the premises due to ill health. However, according to her media office, she has now initiated the process of leaving the residence and is expected to complete the move within the next few days.
