According to CIABOC, the first phase of the inquiry will focus on examining the asset declarations of high-ranking officers to ensure transparency and accountability within the country’s security sector.
The Commission further stated that the investigation will later be expanded to include lower-ranking personnel as part of a broader anti-corruption initiative.
In addition, CIABOC plans to extend the asset review process to officials attached to the Department of Prisons, Sri Lanka Customs, and the Department of Immigration and Emigration in subsequent stages.
The move is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen integrity within key public service institutions and to curb illicit enrichment and corruption.
