Prime Minister Conducts Surprise Inspection of Two Schools in Polonnaruwa

opportunity to gain a more realistic understanding of the provincial education situation, school resource requirements, and the difficulties of delivering education in underprivileged environments.

Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, carried out an unannounced inspection visit to Al Hilal Muslim Central College and Sevanapitiya Maha Vidyalaya during her tour of the Polonnaruwa District.

Both schools have been identified as institutions providing education under challenging conditions. During her visit, the Prime Minister engaged in a friendly discussion with students to understand their learning needs and the difficulties they face.

She also held discussions with teachers regarding the challenges and requirements they encounter in their daily duties. In addition, Dr. Amarasuriya sought feedback from the educators on the upcoming education reform plan scheduled for implementation in the near future.

The Prime Minister stated that the inspection visit provided an 

Deputy Minister of Housing Construction and Water Supply T. B. Sarath, Members of Parliament Padmasiri Bandara and Sunil Ratnasiri, and several senior officials from the Ministry of Education were also present during the visit.
