Sri Lanka records over 153,000 tourist arrivals in October 2025

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has reported that a total of 153,063 tourists visited the island between 1 and 29 October 2025.

According to the latest data released by the SLTDA, India continued to be the leading source market, contributing 44,741 visitors, which accounts for 29.2% of total arrivals during the period. The United Kingdom ranked second with 12,128 tourists, followed by Russia (10,450), China (10,408), Germany (8,950), and Australia (7,226).

From 1 January to 29 October 2025, Sri Lanka has welcomed a total of 1,878,557 tourists, marking a steady recovery in the tourism sector. Out of this total, 420,033 visitors were from India, 174,021 from the United Kingdom, and 132,594 from Russia, the SLTDA stated.

Officials note that the consistent growth in arrivals from key markets reflects improved connectivity and strengthened tourism promotion campaigns in recent months.
