The Department of Meteorology forecasts mainly fair weather conditions across most parts of Sri Lanka today (November 1).

However, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Ampara District, particularly after 2.00 p.m.

Misty conditions are also likely in some areas of Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva Provinces during the early morning hours.

Meanwhile, mainly fair weather is expected to prevail in the sea areas around the island. Winds will be variable in direction, with speeds ranging between 20–30 kmph, and the sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate.

The Met Department has advised the public to take necessary precautions to minimize damages from temporary localized strong winds and lightning that may occur during thundershowers.
