Addressing a media conference held yesterday (29), GMOA Secretary Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa said that if the transfer system is implemented today (30), the authorities must take full responsibility for any resulting disruptions to hospital and health services across the country.
Dr. Sugathadasa emphasized that the GMOA’s decision follows repeated warnings to the Ministry of Health regarding the alleged lack of transparency and fairness in the new transfer process.
He added that the union’s executive committee has unanimously decided to take trade union action unless the authorities suspend the implementation of the current transfer system and initiate a fair review process.
