The cases, both dating back to 2008, were taken up before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court this morning. However, the MP was absent when the cases were called.
An attorney representing MP Manuwarna informed the court that his client was unable to attend the proceedings as he was participating in the national land distribution program.
Considering the explanation provided, the Magistrate nevertheless ordered the issuance of arrest warrants for the MP in relation to the two cases.
