The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval to fill 8,547 vacancies across various government ministries, provincial councils, and commissions. This follows a committee review headed by the Secretary to the Prime Minister, which was tasked with identifying recruitment needs, priorities, and timeframes for government service positions.
The committee, appointed by the Cabinet on 30 December 2024, examined requests submitted by ministries and other institutions to fill existing vacancies. Based on the committee’s recommendations from its meeting held on 2 October 2025, the Cabinet approved the Prime Minister’s resolution authorizing relevant departments to proceed with recruitment.
The number of vacancies approved for recruitment in key ministries and councils includes:
Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Professional Education – 79
Ministry of Health and Mass Media – 120
Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation – 123
Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development – 310
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports – 355
Ministry of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs – 5,198
Ministry of Buddhism, Religious, and Cultural Affairs – 1,261
Western Provincial Council – 414
Other ministries and provincial councils will fill the remaining positions, bringing the total approved vacancies to 8,547.
