The appeals filed by former ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando, who are currently serving prison sentences for corruption, have been scheduled to be heard on January 20.

The appeals came up before a three-judge bench of the Sri Lanka High Court, headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena, today (October 28). After considering the submissions, the bench ordered that the appeals be taken up for hearing on the scheduled date.

Both Aluthgamage and Fernando, who are presently in prison, were produced before the court by prison officials during today’s proceedings.
