The quake struck 8 km southeast of Sındırgı at a depth of 10.0 km and was recorded at 01:18 UTC+05:30. Tremors were widely felt across Izmir, Istanbul, Bursa, and surrounding areas, causing noticeable shaking and reports of localized damage.
According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the quake’s epicenter was recorded at a depth of 5.99 kilometers. Two aftershocks, measuring 4.2, followed shortly after — the first at 10:50 p.m. and the second at 11:04 p.m.
The tremor was strongly felt across western Turkey, including the cities of Izmir and Istanbul, located about 250 kilometers from the epicenter, as well as in neighboring provinces such as Manisa, Kutahya, Bursa, and the Dardanelles.
