Beginning his expedition on September 1, 2025, Sooran reached Jaffna on October 23, where he was warmly welcomed by the Sri Lanka Army at a special ceremony.
The journey, titled “From Paris to Jaffna,” was undertaken to promote Jaffna as a vibrant travel destination and to foster intercultural understanding and reconciliation.
Speaking upon his arrival, Sooran said his mission was to showcase Jaffna’s rich traditions to the international community, promote tourism, and strengthen cultural and social connections between Sri Lanka and the global diaspora.
