Speaking at the 40th anniversary celebration of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) today (27), he stated that the Ministry of Public Administration has already appointed a special committee to expedite the required legal framework and facilities.
The Minister further revealed that steps are also being taken to introduce a contributory pension scheme for Sri Lankans living abroad, with the relevant legal procedures now underway.
He noted that the initiative recognizes the vital contribution expatriate workers make to the country’s economy.
