 
                                                                                            According to official data, 119,670 tourists had arrived as of October 23, bringing the total number of arrivals this year to 1,845,164.
Meanwhile, the All Ceylon Small and Medium Scale Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Union says that although tourist arrivals have increased, authorities have yet to take adequate steps to provide the necessary facilities for visitors.
Union chairman Sameera Senaka de Silva said a systematic program should be introduced urgently to improve facilities and strengthen the tourism sector.
