According to the NWSDB, the disruption is due to a power outage affecting the main pumping station that supplies water to the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant.
The areas affected by the water cut include Battaramulla, Pelawatte, Hokandara, Koswatta, Thalawathugoda, Kotte, Rajagiriya, Madivela, Nugegoda, Nawala, Kolonnawa, IDH, Kotikawatta, Angoda, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatta, Maharagama, and Boralesgamuwa.
The Water Board expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to consumers by this interruption.
