The BOI noted that USD 124 million of the total FDI was generated through new project agreements signed in 2025, while the remainder resulted from reinvestment and expansion of existing ventures.
Officials said the increase demonstrates both the growing confidence of new investors and the continued commitment of existing companies to expand their operations in Sri Lanka under an improving business climate.
In addition, the BOI reported that domestic investments worth USD 326 million were made across 163 projects during the first nine months of 2025, further underscoring momentum in the country’s investment landscape.
