Army Media Spokesman Brigadier M.J.R.S. Madagoda stated that the deployment aims to strengthen disaster response and ensure swift assistance to affected communities.
According to the District Disaster Management Centre, over 500 individuals from 35 families in the Kandy District have been affected by the bad weather.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Disaster Management Centre, said that 73 people in the Galle District have been affected by flash floods that occurred within the past 12 hours.
