The meeting focused on evaluating the impact of ongoing projects implemented by the Ministry to uplift women’s livelihoods, promote social inclusion, and improve early childhood care and education.
Minister Paulraj stressed that effective results can only be achieved through active field-level engagement and the collaboration of local officials and community stakeholders. “We must become even more active on the ground for the betterment of women and children in our country,” she said, underscoring the importance of practical, on-the-ground action.
The session also provided a platform for officials to raise district-level challenges faced by women and children and discuss targeted solutions to strengthen the Ministry’s outreach programs.
The discussion was attended by North Central Province Governor Hon. Wasantha Jinasena, State Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply and Polonnaruwa District MP Hon. T. B. Sarath, Members of Parliament Hon. Sunil Rathnasiri and Hon. Padmasiri Bandara, Additional District Secretary Ms. Nirosha Hapuhinna, and field officers of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs.
