A bus carrying schoolchildren, teachers, and parents from a school in Sapugaskanda met with an accident this afternoon (19) near the Batuwatte Railway Station in the Ragama Police Division.
The group had been returning from a jamboree held at the Batuwatte Maha Vidyalaya when the accident occurred. Police said there were about 20 passengers on board the vehicle.
Nine children and three others sustained injuries and were admitted to the Ragama Hospital for treatment.
Ragama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
