Police have uncovered fifty T-56 bullets buried near the 18th post of the Mahabage Highway, following information provided by a suspect known as ‘Gampaha Baba’, who was arrested along with Ishara Sewwandi.
According to police sources, the suspect had revealed during interrogation that the ammunition was supplied by Kehelbaddara Padme, a well-known organized crime figure.
The discovery was made during a search operation carried out based on the suspect’s confession.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Peliyagoda Police Crime Division.
