According to police reports, the suspect was also found in possession of 2.3 grams of heroin at the time of arrest.
The arrest was made yesterday (17) afternoon in the Maoya, Bandiwewa area within the Polonnaruwa Police Division. The operation was carried out jointly by officers of the Polonnaruwa Police Station and the Manampitiya Police K9 Unit, based on a tip-off received by the police.
The 28-year-old suspect is a resident of Bandiwewa.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Polonnaruwa Police.
