Police said the woman initially arrested had provided accommodation to Sewwandi, leading to the arrest of her son-in-law, the constable. The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) also apprehended another suspect who had sheltered Sewwandi for about one and a half months.
The latter is believed to be linked to the organised criminal known as “Mathugama Shan.”
