A writ petition filed seeking a credible investigation and appropriate action against Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena for his alleged failure to prevent the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings was yesterday fixed for support by the Court of Appeal.

The two-judge bench comprising Justices Mayadunne Corea and Mahen Gopallawa fixed the matter for support on March 24 next year.

The petition was filed by the Centre for Society and Religion, its Chairman Fr. Rohan Silva, and Easter Sunday attack victim Surach Nilanga, naming the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena, and the Attorney General as respondents.
