The police constable involved in the recent altercation with a lawyer at the Mount Lavinia court premises has been transferred from the Mount Lavinia Police Station to the Piliyandala Police Station.
Police said the transfer took effect from today (14).
The Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court yesterday (13) granted bail to the police constable, who had been remanded on charges of assaulting a lawyer at the court premises.
The incident reportedly occurred last Friday during an argument between the lawyer and the police constable.
