Mount Lavinia Police Headquarters Inspector H.T.M. Thushara has been transferred with immediate effect, police said.
He has been reassigned to the Medical Services Division for general duties.
Police said the transfer is linked to a special investigation concerning the recent incident between a lawyer and a police officer near the Mount Lavinia Court Complex.
Police said that the move is part of the preliminary investigations currently underway.
