Four people were killed and at least 20 others were injured in a shooting at a crowded bar on St. Helena Island in South Carolina, according to the Associated Press (AP).
The shooting happened early Sunday at Willie’s Bar and Grill, where a large crowd had gathered. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found several people with gunshot wounds, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted on social media.
Officials confirmed that four people were pronounced dead at the scene. Among the 20 injured, four were reported to be in critical condition at nearby hospitals, AP reported.
Authorities have not yet released the names of those killed or injured.
