The retail price of lime has increased to as much as Rs. 3,000 per kilogram in some parts of the country, according to consumers.
Traders attribute the price hike to a shortage of lime caused by the prevailing dry weather conditions, which have significantly reduced fruit production in lime plantations.
They also noted that this situation has persisted for several weeks, with no immediate signs of improvement in supply.
