Over 46,000 tourists arrive in Sri Lanka during first 9 days of October

A total of 46,868 foreign tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka during the first nine days of October 2025, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

The largest number of visitors came from India, accounting for 14,221 arrivals during the period. In addition, significant numbers of tourists also arrived from China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Bangladesh, and Australia.

With these arrivals, the total number of tourists visiting Sri Lanka so far in 2025 has reached 1,772,362, reflecting the continued growth of the country’s tourism sector.
