Today, October 10, marks World Mental Health Day, a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and strengthening efforts to support individuals facing psychological challenges. Since 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) has led this initiative, emphasizing that mental health is just as essential as physical health in living a balanced and fulfilling life.

Fortunately, Sri Lanka offers several free and confidential mental health counseling services and helplines, many of which are run on a voluntary basis. These services play a crucial role in saving lives and providing comfort to those in need.
