Despite this cautious optimism, the Ministry concurrently voiced significant apprehension regarding previous agreements, noting the history of Israel breaking past accords. The statement emphasised the critical need for the full and sincere implementation of this new peace agreement.
Additionally, Maldives stressed that Israeli leaders indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) must be brought to justice.
The Ministry reaffirmed Maldives' unwavering support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and a return to the pre-1967 borders.
Maldives has continuously called for Israel to be held accountable for its actions against the Palestinian people in Gaza, stressing its continuous advocacy for the Palestinian cause in all international forums.
