According to the ministry’s statement, the net profit for the same period in 2024 was LKR 18.9 billion. This represents an increase of approximately LKR 13 billion, or a 71% growth compared to last year.
The estimated profit for the first eight months of 2025 was around LKR 21 billion, meaning the port exceeded its projected target by approximately LKR 11 billion.
The Sri Lanka Ports Authority stated that with the completion of projects such as the Eastern Terminal and the Jayabharuuma Terminal, the port expects further capacity expansion in the near future.
