According to the ministry, several Facebook pages and websites have been publishing fabricated stories, edited images, and misleading content aimed at damaging the personal, family, and professional reputations of the minister and his staff, as well as his political image.
The ministry requests the CID to investigate the individuals and social media pages involved and to take necessary legal action.
Those named in the complaint include Nimantha Perera, Dumindu Jayasuriya, K.W. Padmasiri, Manjula Perera, Rannu Jazze, Thushari Pathiraja, Palitha Dewasiri, Rasika Vikumpriya, Fernando Inoka, and the “Gampaha Podu Jana Handa” Facebook page.
